Please come and worship with us. All are invited and visitors are always welcomed.
The congregation of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church has recently made the decision to join Pittsburgh Lutheran United Ministries (P.L.U.M.), a cooperative ministry in which multiple congregations share multiple pastors. Currently, PLUM is served by full-time co-pastors, Rev. John Gropp, and Rev. Beth Siefert. This cooperative ministry opportunity will enable Bethany to continue its mission and service to the local community of Dormont in a way that is economically feasible, given the small size of our congregation.
Our new worship time is 9:15 a.m. every Sunday, followed by Sunday School at 10:30 a.m.. Please plan to join us!
All baptized worshippers are invited to receive Holy Communion. If you believe in Jesus Christ and are baptized, come and receive His true body and blood, given and shed for the forgiveness of all your sins. Non-communing children are invited to the altar to receive a blessing.
The bread and wine are distributed to the congregation in groups gathered at the altar rail. Individual glasses are used to distribute wine. Those who prefer to receive the wine from the chalice may go to the altar rail with the last group of communicants.
The deacons will assist the worshippers at the time of the distribution of the Sacrament. If (for health reasons) you need to have the pastor bring the communion elements to you in the pew, please inform one of the deacons. Communing members and visitors are asked to fill out a Communion Card and hand it to the acolyte who is assisting your approach to the altar.
Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church is located at 3104 West Liberty Avenue in Dormont.
