Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dormont, was established in 1917, and is affiliated with the ELCA.
As a congregation, Bethany has been called to serve Dormont and surrounding communities, as well as to support the efforts of the ELCA in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The congregation of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church has joined Pittsburgh Lutheran United Ministries (P.L.U.M.), a cooperative ministry in which multiple congregations share multiple pastors. PLUM is served by full-time co-pastors, Rev. John Gropp, and Rev. Beth Siefert. This cooperative ministry opportunity enables Bethany to continue its mission and service to the local community of Dormont in a way that is economically feasible, given the small size of our congregation.
As of November 2010, new worship time is 9:15 a.m. every Sunday. Please plan to join us!
Visitors and those seeking a church family are always welcome and encouraged to attend worship services or any of the events that take place at the church (Thanksgiving Day Dinner, Fish Fry Dinners during Lent, Brotherhood meetings, Summer Programs for children, etc.).
The church is located in Dormont, at the corner of West Liberty Avenue (Route 19) and Park Boulevard. Metered parking is available along the street on West Liberty Avenue and several spots on Park Boulevard. Port Authority Bus stops are located in front of the church on West Liberty Avenue, and the church is a very short walk from the Port Authority "T" Light Rail Transit System's Dormont Junction.
